Its the time of the year again! The time to get their costumes ready for the book characters
parade in school. This has always been a challenge for me coz the school asked that the materials be made from recycled materials. I don't have the luxury of time to collect boxes etc so I just "recycled" the boys old clothes.
Since we had been reading many Dr Seuss' books lately, I decided to dress them as Dr Seuss, Thing 1 and Thing 2 and I added Aaron as Thing 3.

The costumes were easy to do as I just dyed their white PJs in black and red. Working on Dr Seuss, I superglued white felt on the shirt and pants. The tough part was to make the hat. I used a paper plate as the base and the top was made from rolled up vanguard sheet. The red lines were created with several strips of red tapes. It was a challenge to balancing the tall hat on Theodore's small head. So I had to stuff newspaper in the hat to stop it from falling. His red bow was made with crepe papers. The tail was made with a black stocking stuffed with newspaper. I wrapped the tip of the tail with white felt.
I made some hats from felt and stick blue pom pom around the hat frame. That was easy if not for all the lose blue stuff that started flying all over the room.
The boys loved the costumes! They had a fun time with the friends in school.

Theodore was invited by the the principal, Mrs Ang, to talk about his character.

All in all, it was a fun event! Next year, I will try to use recycled materials. After all, it will be the triplets' final year in school.
